I climb the cashew tree, walk through the mangrove swamp, bathe in the river. I smile. This is a place of peace. This place pulses in my soul, this place bathes me in life. This is the land that gave my family a home, that fed us, guided us and left us strong. This is Forte Velho, where the Parahyba tree sprouted.
